Basketball players, are you ready to wear 3D printed running shoes for tournaments?
A Chinese company Peak Sports is developing 3D printed shoes. The latest achievement of the company is printing of snickers. The developers have recently presented the first sample in a line-up of basketball sneakers made using additive technologies. Sneakers are manufactured using selective laser sintering technology.
Professional basketball player from the USA Dwight Howard got the opportunity to test the novelty to destruction. He appreciated the sneakers noting that they are quite comfortable for both walking and playing sports. Moreover, the athlete said he will highly likely wear them for NBA tournaments.
All 3D parts are made of thermoplastic polyurethane. The design of the sole has good cushioning during running and jumping.
There is no information yet when and at what price shoes go on sale.
