Sony equipped new smartphones with 3D scanner

Sony launches new products, smartphones with built-in 3D scanner, Xperia XZ1 and Xperia XZ1 Compact. They can make 3D models suitable for printing by a 3D printer.

Sony's mobile gadgets are also popular thanks to the perfect quality of the photosensitive image sensors of the cameras. The corporation implemented in its new products a basic 19-megapixel camera as well as 13- and 8-megapixel front cameras Motion Eye with Exmor RS image sensor. They interact with the 3D Creator application, which allows you to digitize an object in four modes: create a scan of the face, head, food and various objects.

There is no need to connect to the cloud to process the scans received. The device is equipped with a powerful on-board processor Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 with 4 GB of RAM. It allows you to quickly create from photogrammetric data files not larger than 2 MB. They can be used for 3D printing, sharing models with friends in social networks or using them as 3D avatars in VR apps. The new devices are compatible with Android 8.0 Oreo.

The corporation is confident new smartphones will become one of the most popular products of Sony. Devices will go on sale this month.
